In August of 2009, I started urinating pure blood. I went to the emergency room at Sacred Heart Hospital. They found I had high blood pressure and stated that one of my white blood cell counts concerned them. They sent me to my family doctor; he did an ultrasound of my stomach and found a spot on my bladder. I was referred to an urologist for further exams. The urologists performed a scope test and found a tumor the size of a tennis ball. He performed surgery on September 4, 2009 and removed the tumor and found it to be cancerous. He let it rest for three months after which he gave me another scope and found two more tumors the size of a pea. He went back in on December 4, 2009, and cleaned out the bladder and prostate, then put chemotherapy drugs in the bladder for one hour and a stint in my kidney tube. A week later he removed the stint and started BCG (Dead Tuberculoses Cells) treatments. I had six of these treatments once a week. After three months on April 20, 2010 he re-scoped my bladder at which time he found the tumors gone, but found a carcinoma in situ. Planned six more treatments of BCG and will re-scope in a few months.
